Brother Mark Hausknecht ’75 Honored

Brother Mark Hausknecht ’75 was honored and memorialized by John Morrison ’75 during the Hailstork Dining Room and Learning Commons dedication ceremony on September 22, 2018. Mark passed away the morning of July 20, 2018, a victim of a senseless act of gun violence.

John presented the memorial plaque made in Mark’s memory and commemorating gifts made for the funding of the wi-fi project via the Mu Chapter of Sigma Pi Educational Foundation.

Mark was a successful and renowned cardiologist. His patients included President George H.W. Bush, whom Mark notably treated for atrial fibrillation in 2000. President Geroge H.W. Bush released a statement about Mark’s tragic and untimely death: “Mark was a fantastic cardiologist and a good man. I will always be grateful for his exceptional, compassionate care. His family is in our prayers.”
